A delightful side project I’ve been working on for awhile, Headout is a travel brand creating short, meaningful interactive itineraries for cities around the world. They include activities, accommodations and dining options for three different budget levels.

We’re branching into custom work for brands and conferences too.

It’s not an App…

How could we keep our overhead low, produce a beautiful useful product and not kill ourselves trying to learn Objective C? Well, we built a repeatable interactive system using InDesign for publishing ease. Then we roped in third party systems to help us market and sell them.

Each itinerary includes an interactive map and three budget-based tiers of activities, lodging and dining.

Bookings, too.

We partnered with Viator to provide the option of booking many of the activities outlined in the itinerary, giving us another revenue stream and closing the loop on a great user experience.

Hyper Targeted Social

We coordinated alongside events and festivals with targeted audiences to serve up relevant ads to users traveling in cities. By focusing on one platform, we were able to limit our spend and maximize our engagement. Building our social presence, brand credibility and audience.
